The Trafford Centre is a sprawling, ostentacious, glamorous and contraversial shopping Mall in the North of England. It opened in 1998, and has more than 260 stores, 60 restaurants and cafes, a 20-screen megaplex cinema, and is a draw to shoppers from all over the world.
Can you tell me who stocks Ugg boots in The Trafford Center?
The wildly popular Ugg boots are stocked in Selfridges, Aspecto, Office, Bank, John Lewis, Jones Bootmakers, Sole and Freespirit. There’s a great choice of Ugg gear, not only for ladies but for the fellas too, and not just boots but a whole array of cuddly apparel. x
hi when is the hollister store due to open, please.
Hi Jon! You’ll be pleased to hear that we expect the new Hollister store to open on August 27th. For those who don’t know this amazing brand, read more info on their wiki here.
Could you please tell me when the new Abercrombie and fitch store is opening, i’d love to know if all trhe rumours are true!
The rumours are kind of true! It’s not an Abercrombie and Fitch store that’s opening, but a Hollister store – which is part of the A&F group. They sell casual wear very much in the style of A&F, but at a more affordable price. Opening date is expected to be late August – so watch this space!
Advice/comment: Can you tell me why they didn’t include a moving walkway into the structure of the bridge across to Barton Square?
Also, there is so much open space, why not let space out for nice cafes with tables and chairs, so people can eat al fresco!
Hi Sharon,
Thanks so much for your thoughts and advice, it’s great to hear what real people think about what we’re doing!
The moving walkway was talked about way back when the Barton Square plans were drawn up, but sadly it was a very expensive option indeed. If we had as many customers as Manchester Airport has tourists, it might have been worth the cost, but we ‘only’ get around 35million people per year to the Centre.
We know lots of people love the decorative bridge that links the Centre to the Square, and they love the glass piano half way down. We did look into getting some kind of mini-train transport to take people over, but heath and safety risks meant that couldn’t happen.
As for the al fresco dining, you’re right, Barton Square is the perfect venue for that. Sadly, the UK weather is not the perfect weather! The lovely people at Nui have hosted some BBQs over there this summer – but only when they were sure the rain would stay away. You can still get some fabulous bites to eat at the M&S and British HOME Stores cafes at the Square, and that doesn’t matter how rainy it might be.
Have you heard the news about the new Legoland Discovery Centre set to open next year at Barton Square. Read more about it here – perhaps they could build a Lego pavillion to sup a brew under?
Please could you let me know of upcoming events etc, over the August bank holiday weekend as we are planning to re-visit the centre at that time.Any info would be helpful. We have looked every where but have had know luck.
Many thanks BILL
Hi Bill,
Thanks for your enquiry! You can always catch up on forthcoming events at our What’s On guide (http://www.traffordcentre.co.uk/whatson/events/) but I can tell you that we’ll be having a very special BBC event taking place right through the Bank Holiday weekend in the Orient – so if you have any kids who are into Tracey Beaker, Doctor Who, or Blastlab with Richard Hammond, you would be very popular for bringing them down here on that weekend!
Best wishes
Justin
