I won’t go on and on about this, because it’s an industry award and probably really boring for most of you, but last night The Trafford Centre won the Best Established Centre award at the BCSC Golds! (This is like the ‘Oscars’ of the shopping centre world, and we’re all really chuffed!)
The fab bit is that one of my favourite TV comics Dara O Briain was at the ceremony in London giving out the gongs!

GONG: (l-r) Awards judge Neil Varnham, Trafford centre bossman Gordon McKinnon, BCSC President Martyn Chase and comedian Dara O Briain.
I passed on my invitation as they were very much in demand – and now I really wish I’d gone. The last awards ceremony I went to had former rugby player and now professional ice-skater Kyran Bracken giving out the prizes – he was lovely, but I don’t care for either rugby or ice skating, so it wasn’t really a big thrill.
Dara however is brilliant at whimsical and sarcy humour, which I love.
Next time, accept the invitation!
